While there are many ways to configure the
mouse cord using the cord clip, we highly recommend using a ‘loop’.
Following these basic guidelines will ensure the cord of the mouse sits
properly in the clip:1. Straighten
your mouse cord so that it is as free of kinks as possible. A straightened
cord will more easily make a loop through the cord-clip and effectively
provide slack to mouse freely and without hindrance.
IMPORTANT – Pulling on your mouse cable
can damage your mouse if precautions are not taken to ensure that stress
is not placed on the connection between the cable and the mouse!
2. Place the mouse onto the sUrface1030 as
you intend to use it and create a small loop (approx. 3-4 inches in
diameter) in the cord at the top of the pad just in front of the base
edging. If the loop does not lie flat, try flipping your mouse 1 or two full
flips either clockwise or counter clockwise to get the cord to rest flat on
the desk.
NOTE - When making the loop, the portion
of the cord leading to the mouse should lay on top of the portion
of the cord leading to the computer - as shown in the picture below.

3. Adjust the size of the ‘loop’ in the cord so the mouse can move freely on
the sUrface without cord interference.
